“I want to celebrate great places like The Bike Station, their work improves our health, our environment and brings people together. In the past I worked with CRNS as a Development Officer so I know many fantastic organisations with similar aims throughout Scotland. I hope by putting on Gigs in these Great Places that it will highlight what they do and let them know how much we all appreciate their hard work.” says Lorraine.
So on March 21st Lorraine McCauley & The Borderlands will be putting on a gig at The Bike Station in Glasgow along with the fantastic Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5. The Bike Station is a really great place and an extremely funky warehouse and the 21st will be a night of great music in this great place, so get your tickets now.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Monika Smekot shot and edited this beautiful little video for our song, Big Love. Braving the cold of a beach in Scotland in January, Jonee, Ula and Thomas performed on the promenade in this loving homage to our bands musical home of Portobello, Edinburgh. We hope you enjoy our video and wish you lots of Big Love today and throughout the year.
Good News Everyone, our song and video ‘What if’ was selected by Scots Whay Hae! as one of it’s Best Songs from 2013. Here is what Scots Whay Hae had to say about it “Let’s not mess about, the next song and video are two of my favourite things of the year so far. Lorraine McCauley and The Borderlands are just too good for you not to know about. The music and melodies remind me of the more acoustic moments of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, and my praise rarely reaches such heights. Melancholic and yet uplifting, this is What If?, and I’ve been playing this most mornings since the first listen“. Happy New Year to you all. We wish you a very happy and healthy 2014 ahead. We look forward to seeing you with new music, fun and adventures.

Ta Da here is our new music video for ‘What if’, shot by Karen Grant. ‘What if’ is about our tendency to dream up relationships in our heads rather than actually having them. Best to try and have them I say no matter what the outcome, better to have loved and lost and all that jazz……Enjoy x
